I don't have a lot of time to write at the moment, but I decided to leave you guys with a quote. Tell me what you think about this, it is really deep.
"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."
To me, this quote pretty much explains why there will never be world peace.
Thoughts?
someone who uses fear, to try and get what they want. almost anyone could be a terrorist.
ReplyDeleteIt is all perspective, something very hard to define in this modern age.
ReplyDeleteIDK but I can tell you they're not angels
ReplyDeleteal Qaida and the Taliban were born out of the need to repel foreign invaders (Afghanistan 80's). If we leave these people alone, there will be no need for terrorists.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much it, it all comes down to what you believe in. nice quote btw
ReplyDeleteThis quote actually made me think more then 1min before i got it. Must agree with that one :)
ReplyDeleteIt's true, but even the most vehement of freedom fighters must have some degree of moral and ethical standards. Most 'terrorists' are labeled as such not for the cause they fight for, but rather the actions they take in its name.
ReplyDeleteThe world seems to have got to a point where everyone feels they need to get revenge. It's a neverending cycle.. I think religion is to blame, as well as national pride. Keep them to yourself, otherwise it inevitably leads to conflict.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very onteresting subject that needs hours to be talked about. Only thing for sure is that the people we label as freedom fighters now, they were probably be seen as terrorists at their time by their enemies. This doesn't mean that anyone who's blowing up stuff must be respected or something like that, but it's good food for thought.
ReplyDeletei can see where this can be true, but i dont believe it is always correct. One may think they're a wise man yet everyone else thinks they're crazy
ReplyDeletei hate politics D:
ReplyDeleteYeah good one. Terrorist is often very one sided word. Imagine being a local in the middle east and then like 20 tanks roll through your town with armed men in them....thats kinda more obvious, but that is sorta terrorism aswell fo them atleast.
ReplyDeletegood post.
+1 for wisdom! Check out my blog awesomeexposed.blogspot.com!
interesting? but an act of terrorism does not seem to contrast with defending one homeland?
ReplyDeletei blame imperialism
ReplyDeleteI agree with that.
ReplyDeleteI like that quote, cause what we define as a terrorist can mean something totally different to another.
ReplyDeleteinteresting... i think osama shouldn't have been killed, rather interrogated
ReplyDeleteTerrorist has the word "terror" in it. Their main goal is to cause "terror" to meet their own goals, right?
ReplyDeleteIs DBZ considered anime?
ReplyDeleteYes, it was made by the japanese.
One who acts to cause terror within a group via violence of misinformation.
ReplyDeleteA terrorist is one who attacks the innocent to make a point. Attacking innocents is never something a freedom fighter would do.
ReplyDeletethat quote pretty much sums it up
ReplyDeletea terrorist is someone who uses violence to prove their point, especially innocent people
ReplyDeleteThe reason why there will never be world peace is humans, as a species, are predators. Violence and aggression are built into our genes. Terrorism is just one outlet for that.
ReplyDeleteIs what we're doing called terrorism?
ReplyDeleteyeah it may be all relative, but i'd take the western democratic concept of freedom versus the religious extremists concept of freedom any day.
ReplyDeleteOsama bin laden was a terrorist, but now hes dead.
ReplyDeleteIf your a moslim you are a terrorist!

You explaination can't be reasoned with that quote. A united world would mean peace for everyone.... but that's just imagination.

I agree with what you said, but in the end everyone has a different view on it so no one can be correct in justifying it
ReplyDeleteIt's a delicate topic, and really is perspective based, but the question is: why must terror be used to make ends meet?
ReplyDeleteIf everyone, both the opposition and those they're against, followed the ways of Gandhi, the world would be a much better place.
Don't agree with the quote. Terrorists promote terror on civilians whereas freedom fighters do not. Fight the government not the civilians.
ReplyDeleteThat phrase might be true, but I think terrorist is a term used by the country who is getting their crap kicked in at the moment by a freedom fighter.
ReplyDeleteJust my take on it tho.
It depends. I think certain groups can engage in guerrilla warfare without resorting to "terrorism." Think of the red shirts in Thailand for an example.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you take the LRA in Uganda as another example, they are "freedom fighters" with no real purpose but to murder and pillage and force child warfare. They're "freedom fighters" for those who subscribe to their ideals, but an international criminal to the rest of the world.
I wouldn't label either group "terrorists."
This is great!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Hamguy.
ReplyDeleteFear is a way of control. No need to go and blow something, just saying that something bad is gonna happen is enough.
Yep, a lot of politicians are terrorist.
ive always thoguht of a terrorist as someones whos actions cause terror.. but iono im suer its open for interpretation
ReplyDeleteEverything is relative.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, the only moral thing to do is ensure your own survival, right? :D
ReplyDeletehonestly i think there can be world peace, it is just people need to be peaceful. really there is no reason for wars or fights. as soon as people realize that it is actually very silly to fight or kill each other THAT is when world peace can begin
ReplyDeletenice post. Very good read.
ReplyDeleteI just think, if people weren't brainwashed by religion everything would be fine. :/
ReplyDeleteA terrorist is someone who seeks to inspire terror. Freedom fighters can fight for their freedoms without actively going after civilians for the purpose of creating terror.
ReplyDeleteI agree with JkF50. I have a feeling that this world is going to end due to religion...
ReplyDeleteAlways believed it was someone that causes panic and terrifies others.
ReplyDeleteI see it the same way. This makes our government being terrorists too.
ReplyDeleteFreakin true quote that I honestly didn't really think about as I'm in the US, and all that's on the news is blah blah terrorists everywhere, but in their country they are heroes.
ReplyDeletenice post, interesting blog, very informative.
